The Carriage Inn, built in 1836, is a grand colonial home located on East Washington Street, Charles Town, WV. Generals Grant and Sheridan met here to plan the Shenandoah Valley campaign.
As the guests approach the Inn they will enter across a spacious lawn to an inviting front porch. Leisurely moments can be spent under large shade trees on the south lawn. This home has been carefully restored and lovingly decorated to reflect the beauty of this gracious era.
Each of the five bedrooms is large and airy, with its own private bath and queen size canopy bed. Breaktast is served each morning in the family dining room. Several guest rooms have working fireplaces as does the dining room and front parlor for cold winter nights.
