Oar House, a Lincoln County historic landmark, was built in 1900 as a boarding house. After extensive renovations in the 80's, it opened as a bed and breakfast with two guest rooms. In 1993, the current innkeeper renovated and expanded the facility.
Guests now enjoy five unique bedrooms with private bath (four with ocean views), a spacious guest living room, a sitting room with fireplace and music system, a large deck, and off-street parking. From the enclosed cupola with widow's walk, the view includes the picturesque Nye Beach area, the Pacific from Yaquina Head to Yaquina Bay, local lighthouses, romantic sunsets, whales, and dramatic winter storms.
The Bed and Breakfast is furnished eclectically and decorated with international art, Persian carpets, Oriental objects d'art, and nautical paraphernalia. Libraries, current periodicals, and daily newspapers enhance the ambience. The innkeeper serves a delicious breakfast from her repertoire of gourmet morning food.
