Saratogian Kate Benton, daughter of a former Mayor, named the Bed and Breakfast she and husband Steve Ramirez opened in 1989, in honor of her siblings. The 1880 Victorian faces the flower-laden boulevard of Union Avenue across from the famous Saratoga Racecourse. Verandas on the first and second floors offer front row seats to rocker enthusiasts.
Inside, gleaming hardwoods, Oriental carpets and antiques lead the way to four beautifully styled spacious rooms, all with private baths, TV, air conditioning, small refrigerators and ceiling fans. The Master Bedroom has a king bed, whirlpool tub and access to a private alcove and balcony. The 'Agatha' room has a king bed, large whirlpool tub and balcony.
A gourmet breakfast by candlelight might include honey-nut french toast with apple crisp and maple sausage. Rich Kona Macadamia nut coffee is plentiful.
The city location is ideal. Proximity is within a 5-10 minute drive to: the Spas, Skidmore College, boutique shopping, downtown, antiques, Performing Arts Center, museums and restaurants. Recommended by the New York Times and Gourmet et al.
Open all Year. Spa package. No Smoking.
