Bryson City is a small friendly village of 1400 people in Swain County. The County is 87 percent Federal land, which is comprised of National Forests, and 40 percent of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The area offers white-water rafting, hiking, wonderful trout streams, boating, antiquing, crafting, gem mining, and a ride on the Great Smoky Mountains Railway. The inn is a quiet oasis from which to explore this beautiful area.
The Folkestone has 10 rooms all with private bathrooms. All rooms have independently controlled central air conditioning. There are rooms with balconies where you can gaze across Deep Creek valley at the mountains, and rooms with stone floors and pressed tin ceilings that offer an olde world feeling. There is a well stocked library, and an inviting front porch where you may rock a spell.
