Historic Queen Anne Victorian mansion on The National Historic Register, ca.1898. Named after the leaded and jeweled glass windows in the spiraling oak staircase turret. The Inn has beautiful woodwork and hardwood floors throughout. There are ornate fireplaces, two wrap-around verandas with wicker furnishings and swing.
Guestchambers are luxurious; antiques, 4-poster and iron & brass beds, all with private baths, some with whirlpool tub, fireplaces and turrets (tower rooms). Four lovely parlors to lounge in with antiques, Persian rugs, period wallpapers and lace curtains that accentuate the beautifully large windows. The "Den's Stone Fireplace," is built with semi-precious stones from every state in the Union as of 1898. Lovely gardens surround the inn, making our quiet location in the historic district relaxing and peaceful. The inn is only one block from the bay and a leisurely two block stroll to the historic downtown area and harbor.
Belfast is located centrally on the Maine coast, making it a great place to situate oneself for day trips up or down the coast. Camden is only 17 miles south, and Bar Harbor / Acadia National Park is just 55 miles north. Many islands like Ilesboro, Monhegan and Vinelhaven, are but a few that are easy day trips from the inn. Not to mention cruises & sailing, hiking in several local state parks, lighthouses, sea kayaking, antiquing, shopping, museums and galleries to keep you busy!
