La Dauphine, Residence des Artistes, is a very laid back, unpretentious guest house for the budget-minded traveler. No attitude. Located in the bohemian, artsy part of town, 4 blocks from the French Quarter. A mellow, village-like atmosphere prevails throughout the neighborhood. There is a dog in the house: Hoshi -- a highly intelligent Japanese Shiba Inu. She is mellow also. The rooms feature four-poster queen beds. A charming, renovated Victorian, 100-year-old house. Very relaxed. Smoking is available in the courtyard garden and on outside porches.
Your hosts are Ray Ruiz, a travel writer and photographer, who lived in San Francisco for 22 years, and is a native New Orleanian, and Kim Pedersen-- a molecular biologist from Copenhagen, Denmark.
