Gidleigh Park

Since Americans Kay and Paul Henderson started Gidleigh Park in 1977, it has been recognised by independent critics as one of the finest small hotels and restaurants in Britain. It is one of 21 British hotel members of Relais et Chateaux, and is currently rated by the Michelin Guide with three red turrets for the hotel, and one star for cooking.

The hotel and restaurant have won many awards, including the Egon Ronay Guide 'Hotel of the Year' in 1990, The Times newspaper Restaurant of the Year 1989, The Hideaway Report 'English Country House Hotel of the Year' 1990, Travel and Leisure 'Most Romantic Country Hotel in UK 1991', etc.

The hotel has 15 rooms, and it is set in 45 acres of beautiful riverside gardens and woodland within Dartmoor National Park. It is a perfect base for exploring Dartmoor or the North or South Devon coasts.
