BEACHES
The only argument between the two sides is which side has the best beaches? The best known beach on the French side is Orient Beach. This beach runs for nearly two miles along the Baie Orientale on the Northeast side of the Island. With it's soft white sand, this beach is a common, crowded tourist spot. It is packed with vendors, snack bars, jet ski rentals and parasailing. The islands prettiest beaches are Baie Rouge and Baie aux Prunes. Here you can rent an umbrella and enjoy a day at a not so crowded beach. On the northern part of St. Martin, visit Ause des Peres and Happy Bay. Happy Bay is a charming beach where you may be the only people as far as the eye can see.
