Recently I was browsing TRAVELASSIST on the World Wide Web and was pleasantly surprised to find one of my favorite places listed.
The Cambria Landing Bed & Breakfast is a wonderful oceanfront Inn on quiet Moonstone Beach Drive in Cambria, California (Highway 1 midway between Los Angeles and San Francisco).
They have spacious rooms with gas fireplaces and many have a great ocean view (my favorite room in the Inn is #15 with a northwest view that includes Piedras Blancas Lighthouse approximately 10 miles away). The furniture in the rooms is all antique with a number of King Size Sleigh Beds in use.
This past Thanksgiving I had the opportunity to stay in the actual room that is pictured in THE REGISTER. It is a jacuzzi suite with a King Size Bed that is canopied by rough hewn branches. It is one of their six "Cottage Rooms" that have ocean view and a very nice sitting area. These rooms also have fireplaces and shower in addition to the very large and deep jacuzzi tub.
The rooms generally come with a bottle of wine from a Paso Robles winery and a delicious breakfast served in the room.
I always carry a kite in the trunk of my car because some of my best kite flying has occurred along the beach in front of the Cambria Landing. I also make it a point to visit my friends the sea lions who sun themselves on rocks a short walk away.
The Inn also loans bicycles to its guests and Moonstone Beach Drive is a fun ride.
Thanks for bringing back wonderful memories...I've got to get back to the Cambria Landing Bed and Breakfast soon!
Take care...
